Dear readers,
PRIMARY VETERINARY ANATOMY, HISTOLOGY, AND
EMBRYOLOGY have been written by the author to provide basic and fundamental information on the gross comparative anatomy of domestic animals and birds for the students of
undergraduate courses in Veterinary and Animal Sciences.
From the beginning of our carrier as a
student of Veterinary Science, We felt the necessity for a simple but comprehensive book on this subject which should be based mainly on an ox, Out of
all the domestic animals, the ox may be considered the animal of great economic
importance throughout the world. While considering Veterinary education,
the then Royal Commission of Agriculture in India also recommended ox as the main animal for study, and on that basic few books and notes were published by
some institutions or individuals from time to time but were either discontinued or
could not come to the limelight for some reasons unknown to us.
In this book, the gross anatomy of ox with
short comparative notes on the horse, dog, and fowl has been presented in eight
different chapters with a good number of illustrations. Our mission will be
successful if the readers in general and veterinary students, in particular, get
material benefit out of this book. We invite any kind of constructive
suggestion, addition, alteration, and correction for any error that may remain
within the text to improve the book in the future.
